Since 2010 when the Connestee Falls Student Scholarship Program raised

$35,000, the Program has continued to grow each year with the exception of 2020.

From the personal generosity and steadfast commitment of our resident donors, to our valued business partners, your contributions are building a legacy for Transylvania County students to change their lives.

In 2025, over 64% of all donations came from individual donors. They continue

to be the backbone of our fundraising. Connestee Falls Clubs and Sports groups raised

over 13% of the donations. We were able to increase our donations from our valued

business partners to 14% from 6% in 2024. We are working very hard this year to

increase the visibility of the Program’s life-changing impact for Transylvania County

students with financial need and merit.

The 38th Annual Golf Tournament had two generous sponsors which brought in a

total of $8,000. The Title Sponsor was Looking Glass Realty WNC and the Cart

Sponsor was Jennifer Merrell with RE/MAX, Land of the Waterfalls. We are very

grateful to both of these sponsors which helped tremendously with the cost of the

tournament.

To date, we are at $189,000 for 2026 and we are still shooting for our goal of

$300,000. There are still many fundraisers being held which are all on our website

under Events. Our Silent Auction on September 17th (with previews in the Cherokee

Room on September 14th (9-noon), September 15th & September 16th 3p.m. to 6 p.m.) is full of new and beautiful art including clay sculptures and woodcrafts, paintings and

a few terrific experiences! Don’t miss it!

Our Community Commitment Committee will be focused on contacting businesses which are regularly used by Connestee residents.  If you know of a business we should contact, please let Kim McElwee kkmda42@aol.com  or John Margold jzm221@aol.com  know via email.

Please visit our website at cfscholarships.org, check out the events of clubs and sports groups held for CFSSP benefit and PLEASE REVIEW THE ABCS and 123s of Retirement Distributions to take advantage of  giving to charity from your retirement account without it counting as income.  If you are interested in becoming involved either as a Board member or committee member, please contact Kim McElwee at kkmda42@aol.com.

students living in Transylvania County. In 2024, the CFSSP awarded its first CFPOA

Employee scholarship to help a Connestee Employee attend college or post secondary

training. Our employees do so much for us, it is important for us to give to them to help

improve their lives. On behalf of the student scholarship recipients, past and present,

WE THANK YOU!
