While the Covid-19 pandemic has changed many, many things, it has not destroyed the desire of our talented and resourceful students to continue their studies. In fact, it has, in many cases, increased their need for our help. With this reality in mind, we ask all Connestee residents to give as generously as they can to this, the only all-Connestee program whose sole purpose is to invest in the future of Transylvania County and our country in the form of scholarships. If every household gave just $100, we would have $140,000 to invest in our students’ futures.
The Connestee Falls Student Scholarship Program awards graduating seniors on merit and need. For 2020, awards to graduates of Transylvania County Schools totaled $37,000, with additional Connestee Falls Scholarships also awarded through Blue Ridge Community College and Brevard College. The following students earned one-time Connestee Falls Scholarship awards ranging from $1,500 to $4,000: Carly Tabor, Brennan Chapman, Baxter Swicegood, Kaitlyn Pressley, Abby Warren, Skylar Harrison, Tenille Leonard, Elise Poché, Brooklyn Rising, Madeline Hall, Shade Wilbanks and Callie Owen.
